Wood gets crushed, and both wood and sand comes home on clothes much easier, so there seems to be more dirt or concrete visible on sand or wood playgrounds.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-78411942108028266882010-10-18T12:20:24.074-05:002010-10-18T12:20:24.074-05:00To answer some questions:

Past Board member Lisa jo VonAllmen lobbied hard to create separate toddler area with sand, unfortunately that plan never came to fruition. It was a great idea for some of the same reasons that Anonymous posted.

It is likely that the playground would be replaced in the early Spring 2011.

Those sails are actually canvas sun shades. Maybe we could recycle the triple bikini on Monona Drive for this feature. Talk about Monona pride!Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08861445630365504561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-6288151224327514832010-10-16T22:35:53.953-05:002010-10-16T22:35:53.953-05:00Keep it blue!Keep it blue!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-80621736362475301152010-10-16T15:35:36.950-05:002010-10-16T15:35:36.950-05:00what are those sails?what are those sails?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-91975574260209762282010-10-16T10:58:53.641-05:002010-10-16T10:58:53.641-05:00I like the design. No rubberized mulch for us. I have never understood how that concept took off. Gross. Bridge Road has a small corner for sand (granted that has weeds in it knee high...maybe not such a good thing ;) )

I like it Blue or Green. Something that doesn't fade as much as maybe a yellow or red would.

What ages is this geared towards??? I don't see a lot that seems to be a bit more "toddler". I avoid the dream park like a plague with little ones typically and the blue park was a nice viable option. The reason I avoid the dream park is there are always tweens playing tag that plow over little kids. Or busloads of kids that are again...running over my toddler.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-71627177102797044642010-10-15T14:05:57.081-05:002010-10-15T14:05:57.081-05:00BLUEBLUEAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-60820078898667661952010-10-15T12:46:13.789-05:002010-10-15T12:46:13.789-05:00And I forgot to add, I want sand! And I forgot to add, I want sand!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143134777410804811.post-39475998558708925662010-10-15T12:45:39.833-05:002010-10-15T12:45:39.833-05:00I like the design although it's hard to tell f...I like the design although it's hard to tell from the small graphic.
